Common Questions

FAQ

What app controls the tubes? +
The free WLED app (iOS & Android) gives you full control — 117+ built-in effects, colour palettes, playlists, and live segment editing. You can also control tubes from any web browser using the built-in WLED web interface, no app install required.
Can I use professional software like Resolume or xLights? +
Yes. Each tube gets its own IP address and can be driven as an ArtNet or sACN (E1.31) node from Resolume, xLights, QLC+, LedFx, and more. No extra hardware needed — just connect your software to the same Wi-Fi network as the tubes.
What power source do I need? +
The tubes run off any 5V USB-C source — a standard USB powerbank, powered USB hub, or dedicated 5V supply all work. For multi-tube setups, a powered USB hub or dedicated supply is recommended to ensure each tube gets stable current.
How many tubes can I sync together? +
WLED supports syncing many devices over the same Wi-Fi network using the built-in sync feature. Most consumer routers handle 20+ devices without issues. For larger installations, a dedicated Wi-Fi router keeps latency low and sync tight across all tubes.
